High school students place in international art contest

Pattonville High School junior Anthony Cruz and senior Lauren Keller placed in an international art contest hosted by the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum.

Both students are in Marcia Mueller's Painting 2 class and submitted work that was inspired by an Anne Frank quote which was the basis of this year’s Art & Writing Contest theme.

Keller was awarded second place for her piece, Bones of the Past, and Cruz placed third for their piece, Reach.

Both have been awarded cash prizes and are among winners from Tokyo, Japan, and Los Angeles, California. They will also be featured on the museum's website in the coming weeks and be recognized during the grand reopening of the museum in late summer 2022.
