Four students earned a place in the all-state choir

Pattonville High School seniors Patrick Ferguson (tenor) and Ethan Massey (tenor) and juniors Diego Halbeck (bass) and Jahlil Johnson (bass) earned a place in the Missouri all-state choir. Senior Joey Stewart (bass) and junior Maggie Haselbauer (alto) earned all-state honorable mention.
 
Earlier this year, students from 34 area schools auditioned for the St. Louis Suburban District Honor Choir. Twenty-three Pattonville High School students were selected with 12 performers placing in the top 20 of their voice part and qualifying for an all-state audition.
 
Honor choir: Savannah Branson, Addie Candela, Olivia Dalton, Sarah Nelson, Maichi Nguyen, Omolara Ogunmola, Jules Pyle, Kyla Webb Shannon, Jakay Townsel and Victoria Welty.
 
Honor choir and all-state qualifiers: Cam Adams, Austin Branson, Patrick Ferguson, Luke Gerst, Diego Halbeck, Maggie Haselbauer, Kenedi Jenkins, Jahlil Johnson, Mimi Lopez, Ethan Massey, Devin Scharer and Joey Stewart.
 
The top 20 singers in the four different voice parts were invited to audition for a spot in the all-state choir. Of the 16 students selected to represent the St. Louis Suburban District, 25 percent of the all-state personnel are from Pattonville High School.
 
In addition, several students qualified to compete in the state sight-reading bee. They are: Savannah Branson, Patrick Ferguson, Jahlil Johnson, Ethan Massey, Sarah Nelson, Omolara Ogunmola and Joey Stewart.
 
The students are taught by vocal music teachers Mr. Tracy Baker and Ms. Melynda Lamb.
